Sometimes it seems like there are people everywhere selling windows. You can even find them in the mall. It can be a scary proposition trying to separate the professionals from those trying to make a quick buck. But ask anyone who has had to deal with inferior products, terrible installation, or non-existent service and we guarantee they will tell you how important it is to work with a respected professional.

  32. I think many people do not realize the amount of positive qualities tinted windows can bring a home. It adds an aesthetic pleasure, reduces energy costs, cuts down on the damaging effects sunlight can have on furniture. There are also a number of health benefits as well. My brother recently started working for a tinting company window repair portland or . and he contantly raves about everything a simple tint can do!

  33. Most of what I have in or on my home (windows, roofing, etc.) is exactly as it was when I moved in years ago. I think it's definitely time to make some improvements to cut energy costs and just make my home more like a home. I'll have to keep doing some research. Seems like this is something that could really benefit me.
    Thanks!

The house is very old, so the windows won't provide any insulation and they have a hard time opening as well. I figure that living there would be a lot easier if we just got new windows. 42. Is there a reason to get a double pane window over a single pane? Is one better than the other at keeping your house temperature more stable? And if there is any dirt or condensation in between a double pane, is there any way to clean it or do you just have to get use to it?

  50. We need to replace most of the windows in our home because they are single-paned. I've been thinking that while we're at it we could change the kinds of windows we have as well. For example, we have a few windows in our living room, but I would like to turn one of the walls into a bay window. Would that be too difficult to do?
    Claudia Rosenburg | http://www.fbillc1.com

  51. Claudia, I've had single pane windows as well, and it's really difficult to keep your house insulated with them. Definitely get them replaced so that you don't have to worry too much when the weather changes. Also, it's a good idea to call a window company and have them come out and see what could be done with your living room wall. There may be a really good way to accomplish what you want, so definitely check with a company that does that. http://www.southlandexteriors.net/products/windows/
